Redange or Redange-sur-Attert (Luxembourgish: Réiden, German: Redingen) is a commune and town in western Luxembourg, near the border with Belgium. It is the capital of the canton of Redange. Redange is situated on the river Attert, a tributary of the Alzette.
As of 2005, the town of Redange, which lies in the west of the commune, has a population of 1,099. Other towns within the commune include Lannen, Nagem, Niederpallen, Ospern, and Reichlange.

Par décret du 1 octobre 1795 (9 vendémaire an IV) les Pays-Bas ainsi que la Belgique ont été réunis à la France et divisés en neuf départements. Le traité de paix de Campo Formio a confirmé l'annexion du Duché de Luxembourg sous le nom de "Département des Forêts". Divisé initialement en 37 cantons, le Département des Forêts a été divisé en 26 cantons en octobre 1796. Le nouveau canton d'Ospern résulta de la nouvelle subdivision de 1796. Il s'étendait sur le territoire des anciens cantons de Rambrouch et d'Useldange et ses limites Nord, Est et Sud correspondaient à celles du canton actuel de Redange. Même si le canton d'Ospern existait déjà depuis 1796, la date du 6 mars 1803 est considérée comme date officielle de constitution. En effet, à la date du 6 mars 1802 quatre arrondissements supplémentaires ont été créés dans le Département des Forêts. Le département des Forêts a été subdivisé en 28 cantons
