The Western Bar is a popular local bar providing entertainment on various evenings ranging from live sporting events on our big screens to live music, so a visit for a drink is a must. Traditional Irish Music nights at the Western Bar are every Thursday at 21:30, there is an open traditional music session, which is the largest open session in Galway! Everyone is welcome to come to listen or to join in and play! Every Friday at 21:30 our local musicians come to play traditional Irish music as well. Come by for a song or relax the night away!

To get to The Western, we recommend you follow these directions:
Coming from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Shannon follow the road signs for Galway. As you approach Galway follow the city centre signs and continue towards Eyre Square. We are located 100 yards before you reach Eyre Square on your right hand side. To enter our car park take the last right-hand turn before The Western, then two sharp lefts will bring you straight to us.
By train or bus:
Galways train and bus stations are located in the city centre, and just a 3 minute walk from the Western. On exiting the station, take a left, heading towards Eyre Square Walk to right of square, passing OConnells bar and NTL offices on right At corner of Richardsons pub, take a right onto Prospect Hill Continue along Prospect Hill and the Western is ahead on the left-hand side
By air:
Galway Airport is located at Carnmore, just 8km north of the city. Aer Arann offers flights to Galway airport from Dublin, Birmingham, Luton, Edinburgh, Manchester and Lorient. Note there is no bus service at this airport, therefore we recommend you avail of their car hire service, or use one of the many taxis available for hire at the airport.
Approximate taxi cost to Galway city is 15.
