Region Information : The old town of Bonn is a colourful quarter, where you can find houses from the turn of the century. A few years ago, the streets were rebuilt in an old-fashioned style and, in the Heerstreet, findings from the Roman era also exist. Small and cosy restaurants and interesting shops can be found in the area. Some of the museums are in walking distance, such as Beethoven's birthplace, the house of the artist August Macke and the Museum of Women. Via the subway, it takes only 10 minutes to reach the Museumsmeile and the former government and parliament district. The area includes the Museum of Art, the former government and a museum of German history.
