Small but perfectly formed, the ambience at The Rockwell is sophisticated yet welcoming and relaxed. The Rockwell offers 40 individually designed rooms and a stylish garden restaurant and bar “one-eight-one”, serving modern interpretations of traditional English food, housed in a beautifully restored Kensington terrace. The dining area extends out to a generous south-facing terrace with seating for approximately 40 guests, inviting hotel guests and local alike to sit in the sun and enjoy alfresco dining.
The Rockwell’s guest rooms offer contemporary styling and standards of comfort with a distinctly English twist. Many incorporate interesting traditional architectural details, giving each room its own atmosphere and ‘feel’. Guests can choose from a variety of room categories, from Premier Doubles to Mezzanine Suites and Garden Rooms with private south-facing patio and garden furniture. All rooms have en suite luxury shower rooms with The White Company toiletries.
The public areas of the hotel also retain much of their original English charm. Room Information : All the rooms at The Rockwell have a distinctive personality all of their own, they are decorated in a Contemporary English style with solid Oak cupboards and desks that have been crafted to fit the room and maximise space. The feel of the rooms is modern but they do retain some classically English features like the large Victorian windows that stretch from the floor up to the high ceilings, which bathe the rooms in light.
All the beds have pocket sprung mattresses, merino wool bedspreads and fine Eygptian cotton sheets and each room has flat screen pay per view TV’s, mini bars, laptop safes, high speed braodband, good air-conditioning and 24 hour room service.
The bathrooms are replenished daily with lotions and soaps from the 'White Company'. Fluffy towelling dressing gowns and hairdryers are available for guests use and are housed within the generous cupboard space.

The V&A has more than four million exhibits, across four floors and 145 galleries. The glass roofed buildings still remain today as some of the best examples of Victorian architecture London. Admission to the V&A is free.
The Science Museum
This holds a collection of over 300,000 items, including such famous items as Stephenson's Rocket, the first jet engine. It also contains hundreds of interactive exhibits. A recent addition is the IMAX Theatre showing science and nature documentaries, some of them in 3-D. Admission is free to the Science Museum.
