Short description : Newly renovated apartment located close to the Old Town, just between Wawel and Kazimierz Jewish district. One of the windows views on the former townhall, now the ethnographic museum.
Room Information : New and clean studio with a double bed, kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet.
Young people can use two additional single (inflatable) mattresses on the entresol. We welcome non smoking guests and a dish with fruit is waiting for you!
VERY IMPORTANT - Please indicate when making your reservation what time you plan to arrive, so the owner can come on time to hand you the keys for the apartment – the owner doesn’t live in the vicinity.
Food & Beverages : In front of the building there are 3 bakeries which open from 6 o'clock in the morning where you can get fresh pastries and bread. Nearby there is also a 24h mini super market for everything else. On the daily market (at Plac Nowy) you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables.
In the near vicinity you'll find a lot of small restaurants where you can taste the local dishes.
Region Information : Only cross the street for entering the old Jewish Kazimierz district where you can find on the market square a lot of cosy restaurants and pubs. On working days you'll find here a market with local food and other items. The district has a lot of (small) galleries with original art and old fashioned (work)shops: furriers, carpenters, tailors, stained glass artists are selling their products, but for how long these small shops will exist, is unsure as the Polish market is also flooded by cheap Chinese products ...
You'll also find places where you can rent a bike for exploring more of Cracow.
It is also a very convenient place to start an excursion to Auschwitz, the Wieliczka salt mines, or the characteristic geological formations such as the national
nature parks Jura, Pieniny or Tatra.
In Krakow you can always find special events like: concerts in monumental historical interiors, Chopin or jazz concerts, International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition, Coke Music Festival with Sugababes, Last Night of Proms, Young Artists in Kraków, Syberian Extreme, Shaman Nights or Festival Sacrum-Profanum. You can meet Mathew Pearl , Marjene Satrapi , watch Tournaments of Knights Orders, take part in International Speed Walking Meeting or in European Day of Languages.
Travel Information : It is best to take a taxi from the airport or railway station. Price depends on the traffic, but should not exceed 60 zloty’s (15 euros) from the airport and even less from the railway station.
When you decide to go occasionally by tram during your stay: on the opposite side of the street is a tram stop. All trams bring you to the centre of the town and run frequently. The first stop is the Royal Wawel Castle, the second one the main post office and the third one the market square.
In the news stand at the stop you can buy single tickets. For each trip you have to validate one ticket, irrespective of travelling distance. You can buy 1- and 3-days tickets, however not at each news stand.
