Region Information : Situated on the main street of the city, which was once used by the merchants coming to trade goods, the hotel is poisitioned right at the city centre, just 100 meters from San Marco Square and 50 meters from La Fenice theatre. Surrounding areas/buildings of interest are the Rialto Bridge and the Accademia.
There is an enormous choice of restaurants and shops a stones throw away, and just around the corner from the hotel are some of the most popular trattoria for the city.
Room Information : You can either choose between Standard and Superior Rooms in the Venetian baroque style of 1700:
- Standard Rooms are suggested for a short stay and come fully equipped with a private bathroom fully with shower and hairdryer, air conditioning, heating, satellite TV, telephone and internet access.
- Superior Rooms overlook the main street or court yard. In addition to Standard Room facilities, Superior Rooms also include free breakfast room service, tea and coffee making facilities (collect at the desk when needed), complimentary newspaper from the second day of your stay (please order in advance). Luggage transportation to and from your room is also included.
All the rooms are fitted with antique furniture, Murano chandeliers and baroque fabrics.

Short description : Boasting an enviable position within a small Venetian court, the Hotel Ateneo is situated in a quiet street in the heart of the Old Town, by St. Mark’s Square.
The old building was once the dwelling of eminent merchant families and opened as a hotel in 1959. The establishment is comprised of four floors and overlooks a beautiful canal for gondolas only.
The Hotel Ateneo has preserved the charm of a typical 17th- century Venetian residence.
The architectural features of the bedrooms characterize the Venetian design and the fabrics, damasks, and the period furniture boasting a 16 th-century design, as well as modern comforts, offer our guests Venice’s magical atmosphere in the privacy of their rooms.

Travel Information : By Plane:
- From the airport, you could take a private taxi boat directly to the hotel in 25-30 minutes.
- Alternatively, you could take the shuttle boat ‘Alilaguna’ to Piazza S.Marco via Murano Island and Lido di Venezia, which takes approximately one hour and 10 minutes.
- You could also travel via taxi cab to Piazzale Roma in approximately 20 minutes.
- It is also possible to travel via bus number 5 to Piazzale Roma or via the blue bus ATVO to Piazzale Roma.
From Piazzale Roma:
- You could take a private taxi boat directly to the hotel in approximately 20 minutes.
- Alternatively, you could take public boat lines number 1 or 82 to Calle Valaresso/ S.Marco.
By Train:
From St. Lucia Railway Station:
- You could take the private taxi boat to the hotel in approximately 20 minutes.
- Alternatively, take public boat lines number 1 or 82 to CalleValaresso/S.Marco (time 30 minutes).
Cancelation Policy : Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
If modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
One child under 6 years stays free of charge when using existing bedding.
One child under 2 years stays free of charge in a baby cot.
One older child or adult is charged EUR 50 per night and person in an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
