Short description : The present ambience of this Functionalist hotel from 1952 characterises traditional Finnish design and is situated across the street from the main railway station and Finnair airport bus terminal.
Purpose built for the 1952 Olympics this majestic hotel offers a stately elegance typical for that era. Indeed some rooms still have convex shaped doors and original Finnish wall art, some of several 1950s features still intact.
The exquisitely furnished guest rooms present a feeling of elegance and charm and the hotel is protected by the National Board of Antiquities.
For a memorable experience remember to book the rooftop sauna and enjoy the cityscape views.
The hip restaurant Loiste is an excellent restaurant for dining and is perched on the 10th floor enjoying spectacular views of Helsinki. Restaurant Kaarre is a great private restaurant in the very heart of Helsinki. It is beautifully located above the rooftops.
Direct access to the Sokos department store is an added bonus and convenient.
