Hotel Information : During the restoration of Abbey Lodge, much attention to detail was given to the building’s original architectural features. One of the more remarkable features is the lodge’s original Gothic stonework that was removed from a building designed by the well-known architect Pugin, who was responsible for the design of the local cathedral and many more notable buildings.
Food & Beverages : Breakfast is included in the price and is served in the conservatory.
Guests can choose from an extensive breakfast menu, which includes American-style pancakes or waffles, a traditional cooked Irish breakfast or a continental buffet breakfast.

In 2000, Abbey Lodge was comprehensively refurbished and extended to provide luxurious en suite accommodation. Much of the slate and stone used in the restoration was salvaged from a number of historical buildings locally.
Tastefully decorated throughout, the lodge houses a collection of fine art and antiques, which were once features of the great homes of this historic region.
Each of the 15 luxurious and spacious bedrooms has a private bathroom with a power shower. All of the rooms have TVs, telephones and trouser presses.
Free wireless internet access is available throughout.
There is also a PC in the lounge, for guests’ use.
Tea/coffee making facilities are also available in the lounge.
Free off-street car parking is available.
