Hotel Information : If you would prefer a very modern room, please ask for Bowmore, Balmore's neighbouring property, which has been refurbished with oak wooden floors, simple decoration and modern furniture and again all en suite.
Room Information : All rooms are en suite and double glazed to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
On arrival you will be given your own front door key. The house does not restrict access to the rooms, but they do depend on guests not abusing this facility.
Food & Beverages : Breakfast is served in the lovely conservatory. Bright and welcoming, even on the dullest days, here you can enjoy a good selection of cooked breakfasts. Toast and cereals are also available.
Region Information : Balmore House is set in a traditional part of Edinburgh with many fine examples of Victorian architecture surrounding the area. We are in a great position to reach the main attractions as our area Tollcross is only 0.8km from the Castle, but also we are on a good bus route for further afield attractions such as Roslyn Chapel, Portobello Beach, Cramond and it's island and also the Britannia and The Botanic gardens.
The Tollcross area provides all amenities you may require cinemas independent and main stream; more than one theatre; leisure centres;ten pin bowling and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. In addition we are very lucky to have The Union canal directly behind our property with it's beautiful walks and waterside restaurants..perfect for a summer's evening.
You can also enjoy our vast park area called The meadows which is a great place to relax, play tennis or occasionally enjoy some local festival there.
All the above amenities are at the very most 10-15 minutes walk.
Travel Information : By Air:
You can take a taxi from outside the Edinburgh's terminal building, on the left-hand side. You can also take a shuttle bus or the Airport Link bus.
By Train:
From Edinburgh station it is easiest to get a taxi to Gilmore Place.
Short description : Balmore House offers city centre accommodation with full breakfast included. We are within walking distance of all the major attractions, we also enjoy a great location close to many restaurants and theatres.
We have limited parking available on a first come first served basis, you can reserve parking at time of booking. We accept most major credit cards.
Important Information : Balmore House is strictly non-smoking in all areas.
It is appreciated that between 22:00 at night and 08:00 in the morning that noise is kept to a minimum, if you need to come in after this time, common courtesy is required (i.e no banging of doors or loud conversations).
Only guests checked into the guest house may sleep there; no overnight guests are permitted.
A certain amount of time is required to clean rooms and this must be done between 10:00 and 15:00. Rooms must be empty when being cleaned.
Cancelation Policy : Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children cannot be accommodated at the hotel.
There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in the hotel rooms and is free of charge.
