Food & Beverages : After closing for renovations, the Cafe Majestic has returned and is open for business. We are very excited about writing the next chapter in what has been a rich and distinguished history. Our restaurant and hotel have seen over a century of change in San Francisco and we look forward to the future.
As far as the kitchen, Cafe Majestic is proud to welcome executive chef Ian Begg, who's strong belief in fresh, seasonal ingredients is the cornerstone of the restaurant's philosophy. The cuisine featured at Cafe Majestic is also centered around balance and the ability to pair with wines from all around the world.
Hotel Information : Not only is The Hotel Majestic rich in it’s Golden Era history, but it has been said by many that The Majestic’s history is haunted by a resident Ghost. Guest’s have told of their eerie experiences while staying on the fourth floor. One room in particular will surely spook people when the bathtub mysteriously fills with water. Our ghost likes to walk our hallway late at night, with keys clanging along the walls. Another story involves a production manager who was staying here while filming “Sweet November”. Late at night she reported to our front desk staff that her bed was shaking and thought we were having an earthquake, which we were not. These unexplainable occurrences have left many guests wondering whose spirit walks these halls. After hearing stories from some of the long time residents in the neighborhood, it is believed that the daughter of the first owner refused to leave the building after it was sold. Her portrait now stands in our lobby, and perhaps her haunted spirit may still be with us. Our resident Ghost is seemingly spooky but always playful and friendly.
Over the years as San Francisco has changed, The Majestic has kept pace but never lost sight of its unique architectural heritage and Edwardian ambiance.
At the hotel, guests can enjoy one of the most elaborate and largest butterfly collections featuring rare specimens from New Guinea and Africa in the United States while dining in authentic Victorian elegance.

Region Information : Business travelers can take advantage of our morning complimentary sedan service to either the Financial District or Union Square on Monday through Friday between 7am-9am.

With its distinctive bay windows, Edwardian styling and ideal location near the cable cars and high rises of downtown, the hotel ushers guests into another era enhanced with vintage architectural details and adorned with French and English antiques. Here you'll be treated to the gracious traditions of yesteryear with all the essentials of today.
Cancelation Policy : Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
Up to two children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
One older child or adult is charged USD 20.00 per night in an extra bed.
One child under 4 years stays free of charge in a baby cot.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: 14 % Tax is not included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast is not included, breakfast menu is available and costs vary.
