Short description : The St. Michaels Heim is located in a quiet, affluent residential area at Lake Herthasee in the borough of Berlin-Grunewald. In only a few minutes you reach the popular Kurfürstendamm with its stores and restaurants. The Grunewald Forest – Berlin’s largest forest area – invites to recreational walks in fresh air.
In the former Mendelssohn Palace you will find not only a youth hostel and a hotel but also a church, a restaurant, various rooms for conferences and events as well as one of the most beautiful beer gardens of Berlin. Visit us and get to know Berlin in the most relaxing way!
Hotel Information : Our "House of Encounters" is located on a more than 23,000 m² large area. Besides the hotel and youth hostel, you find here a renowned restaurant (called "Zum Frommen Löffel" by Berliners), a kinder garden, a children’s day care facility, two family-structured homes and two physician practices. In the former "House of the Gardener" you find a botanic nursery. The annex houses a welfare centre and a mentoring organization.
Room Information : The architecturally interesting and functional multi-bed and single rooms with altogether 140 beds are ideally suitable for groups. Showers and WCs are located on each floor of the youth hostel.
A comprehensive breakfast buffet provides the right start into the day.
Region Information : The St. Michaels Heim is located in the quiet, affluent neighbourhood of Berlin-Grunewald, directly at Lake Herthasee in a beautiful park. In only a few minutes on foot or by bus you reach the Kurfürstendamm with its pubs, discotheques, stores, cinemas and theatres. The trade fair centre at the Funkturm (Radio Tower), the ICC convention centre and the central bus station are directly accessibly by public transportation from here.
Cancelation Policy : Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 8.00 per stay for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 18.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 4.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
