Peguera is a tourist resort on the west coast of Mallorca, in Calvià. It is sited on the skirts of Tramuntana Mountain Chain -the most important natural area in Mallorca- which protects Peguera from northern cold wind; and it is also close to the sea. These facts favor a micro climate which gives Peguera slightly higher winter temperatures than in the rest of Mallorca. This fact also favours that the hotels and appartments in Peguera receive tourists not only in summer but also many of them spend their holidays in winter, enjoying springtime temperatures.
Peguera is located on the south west coast of the island of Mallorca approximately 20km, or 12 miles west of the capital of Palma. Within only about half an hours drive from the airport it is one of Mallorca's many tourist resorts. The resort of Paguera, along with the neighbouring resorts of Palma Nova, Magaluf and Santa Ponsa, are all part of the municipal district of Calvia on the south west coast of Majorca. Peguera is a beautiful natural looking resort with fine sandy beaches surrounded by pine trees. There is a boulevard running directly through the central tourist area with many shops, bars and restaurants, and branching off the main boulevard are numerous streets which hold host to yet more bars and restaurants!
The resort offers visitors a choice of 3 beaches, called "Playa Palmira",(popular for its central location and attraction to surfers as high winds, during the winter season create spectacular waves) "Playa Tora" (Where coral can be seen close to the shore) and "Playa La Romana", *Another popular surfing beach during the winter months) all of which are joined by a fairly new pedestrian promenade. During the summer months all 3 beaches can become very busy, although in all fairness to the local council, they are usually kept very clean. Before the growth of the tourist industry on the island during the 1960's, Paguera was originally a tiny fishing village, however, the last 40 years has seen it develop and grow, into a popular modern tourist resort with plenty of facilities.
Paguera is often unkindly referred to as "Little Germany" by many of the English speaking residents on the south coast. But in all fairness, the resort is very popular with the German tourists who do make up a good percentage of visitors here, many of which are attracted by the small network of coastal hiking routes towards the back of the resort. However more British visitors are returning and a number of bars, clubs and restaurants owned by and run by the British are steadily increasing.

Paguera in Mallorca
Situated on the south west coast of Mallorca this busy resort is set around a beautiful bay and has 3 beaches to tempt you, Playa La Romana, Playa Palmira, and Playa Tora.
This small but busy resort is popular with all nationalities, especially the Germans, but the number of bars and restaurants aiming at British clientele is on the increase as more tourists from the UK discover the area. It is close to the Port d'Andratx which is a popular area for visting film stars and celebrities.
The beaches are well maintained, providing basic amenities such as sunbed hire and parasols as well as water sport facilities and trips on the "Glass Bottom Boat". You can gain access to each of the beaches from the fairly new promenade which stretches the length of the bay.
Originally a small fishing resort, Paguera is now a bustling resort and the night life reflects this. There are numerous bars and clubs and although it may not be as noisy as other resorts, it is not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet holiday.
