This showcase of Finnish art and design was built in 1989 and reopened as a Hilton in 2003 with many changes and renovations. The tasteful terracotta marble and granite building is located between two bridges on a north west corner of one of the fingers of the Gulf of Finland.
The distinctive use of granite and Finnish marble in the central lobby is accentuated by a soaring atrium, where the Bridges restaurant is also located. Set in the Hilton Helsinki Strand hotel’s elegant glass atrium, this seafront Helsinki restaurant is decorated in modern wood and earth-tones.
